Bruce H. Podrat has over 30 years of diverse experience as a healthcare executive and consultant. He has provided healthcare litigation support expertise on more than 300 matters in such areas as organizational compliance with administrative standards of care, including Joint Commission standards, hospital/nursing home policies and procedures, negligent hiring, physician credentialing, governing body and medical staff by-laws, third party billing disputes and fair market enterprise value (See listing of sample plaintiff and defense cases and recent cases involving deposition or trial testimony).
Bruce’s management consulting expertise includes accomplishments in a variety of organizations including acute care and specialty hospitals, university medical centers, physician groups, MCO's, nursing homes, retirement centers, multi-hospital systems, ambulatory facilities, occupational health, home healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. His key consulting assignments and client responsibilities have required extensive skills in:
- Strategic Business Planning including strategy development and competitive positioning, product line planning, Board retreats, acquisition evaluation and integration planning, joint business ventures, ambulatory care development and market/demographic studies.
- Finance/Financial Management including complex financing assistance, capital planning, financial projections, budgeting and business office management.
- Operations Management including process/productivity/quality improvement, service level enhancement, and work restructuring.
- Regulatory/Compliance Assistance including Joint Commission readiness surveys for hospitals and compliance related consulting for physician compensation matters, business valuations and other FMV issues.
Prior to PHS, Bruce was responsible for strategic management consulting services for a regional firm's Hospital/Medical Group consulting practice. Before, that, he was the Director of Healthcare Consulting Services for Deloitte and Touche in Philadelphia.
Bruce holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters in Hospital and Health Services Management from Northwestern University. He is a frequent speaker on healthcare regulation, strategic and capital planning and on the design of operations improvement programs.
